Administration of deceased estates

Complying with the rules and requirements of the various statutes which govern deceased estates can be time consuming and often confusing. We have the expertise and resources to administer deceased estates from the first reporting of the estate at the Master’s office, to the discharge of the executor after the estate has been finally distributed to the heirs.

We have a close relationship with the Master’s office in Cape Town and with the South African Revenue Service, which are the two most important institutions dealt with during the administration of an estate.

Our priority is to carry out the wishes of the deceased in their last will and testament. We report regularly to the Master and SARS about the status of the administration of the deceased estate. We aim for maximum transparency and open communication with family, heirs, and creditors of the estate.

Drawing up and reviewing wills

We draw up and compile comprehensive wills, which clearly express your last wishes. We also review existing wills to ensure they cover the latest changes in your circumstances (e.g. marriage, birth of children, divorce, death in the family, acquisition of large assets and liabilities).

We have partnered with leading financial advisors who can assist with drawing up estate plans that cover all the expected costs and liabilities in your estate, which leaves your assets free to be passed on to your heirs.
